探索创想筑梦,实践点亮未来:世外小学国际部科创校队闪耀国际舞台
近日,2025 IF・GIC全球总决赛传来捷报,世外小学国际部科创校队凭借 “Elderly Companion Robot” 项目,从全球 34 个国家的众多参赛作品中脱颖而出,不仅成功入围全球仅 30 组、中国区仅 4 组的总决赛名单,更一举斩获 “评审团特别喜爱奖” 与 “展示幻灯片奖” 双项大奖。这一亮眼成绩,既是校队学子不懈探索的成果,更是学校科创教育理念落地生根的生动实践,为中国青少年科创领域再添光彩。
缘起:选拔组建,初露锋芒载誉归
2024 年 3 月,世外小学国际部启动科创校队选拔,经过层层考核与综合评估,9名来自三、四年级的同学凭借对科技的热爱、对未知的好奇及创新潜力,组建起学校首支科创校队。成立之初,队员们便以“探索、创想、实践” 为宗旨,分为三个小组开启科创征程。



短短一年间,校队已在多项赛事中崭露头角,收获颇丰:
· 2025 第二十届宋庆龄少年儿童发明奖发明类小学组一等奖、三等奖
· 2025 第二十届宋庆龄少年儿童发明奖人工智能类小学组三等奖
· 2024 SDG.K12 全球目标创意挑战创意作品小学组二等奖、三等奖
· 2024 年 “上海中学杯” 青少年科技论坛(成果板块)二等奖
· 2024 - 2025 学年长三角(国际)科创节小学组一等奖、二等奖
这些荣誉不仅是对队员们努力的肯定,更展现了 IB 学习者的卓越素养。
传承:新老交替,课堂启蒙燃火花
2025 年 2 月,校队迎来新老交替的关键节点:2 名老队员选择坚守,传承团队经验与科创精神;7 名新队员加入,为队伍注入新鲜活力,共同续写科创篇章。
同年 3 月至 6 月,新一批队员开启系统的科创课程学习,内容涵盖电路连接与图形化编程、平面建模与激光切割、三维建模与 3D 打印及人工智能初步探索。课堂上,队员们不仅扎实掌握专业知识,更将目光投向生活,围绕 “如何让家中设备更智能”“怎样减少生活资源浪费” 等真实问题展开思考,最终成立三个课题小组,以项目式学习开启创新实践,让生活中的 “小疑问” 成为探索科学的 “大起点”。



攻坚:暑假集训,创意落地成成果
2025 年 6 月,各小组完成开题报告,明确研究方向;暑假的集中训练,则成为队员们将创意蓝图转化为现实的 “攻坚期”。在此期间,他们用行动诠释科创精神:设计问卷开展调研、深入实地分析数据、绘制设计图搭建电路、编写程序反复调试、三维建模进行 3D 打印、组装原型持续优化。
经过日夜奋战,队员们不仅成功打造出可运行的原型机,还撰写了详尽的研究报告,并将项目提交至 GIC 全球创新挑战赛,向着国际舞台发起冲击。



闪耀:国际赛场,双项大奖证实力
IF・GIC 全球创新挑战赛是专为全球 5 至 19 岁学生打造的年度国际赛事,旨在为青少年提供展示创意、同台竞技、共享荣耀的平台。
世外小学国际部施乐仪、包芮菡、杨嘉耀三位同学合作的 “Elderly Companion Robot” 项目成功入围。在线上答辩环节,三位同学沉着自信、表达流畅,展现出卓越的团队协作能力与创新思维,赢得评委高度认可,最终斩获两项重要奖项:

· 展示幻灯片奖(Presentation Slides Award)

The International Department of Shanghai World Foreign Language Primary School's Sci-Tech Innovation Team Shines on the Global Stage
Recently, good news came from the 2025 IF・GIC Global Finals. The Sci-Tech Innovation Team of the International Department of Shanghai World Foreign Language Primary School stood out among numerous entries from 34 countries worldwide with their project "Elderly Companion Robot". They not only successfully entered the list of the global finals, which only included 30 teams (with merely 4 from China), but also won two major awards: the "Judges Overall Favorite Award" and the "Presentation Slides Award". This outstanding achievement is not only the result of the students' unremitting exploration but also a vivid practice of the school's sci-tech innovation education philosophy taking root, adding glory to China's youth sci-tech innovation field.

Selection and Formation,
Showing Talent and Winning Honors at the Outset
v In March 2024, the International Department of Shanghai World Foreign Language Primary School launched the selection of the Sci-Tech Innovation Team. After layers of assessments and comprehensive evaluations, 9 students from Grade 3 and Grade 4, driven by their love for technology, curiosity about the unknown and innovative potential, formed the school's first sci-tech innovation team. Since its establishment, the team members have taken "exploration, creation, practice" as their tenet and divided into three groups to start their sci-tech innovation journey.
l In just one year, the team has made a name for itself and achieved fruitful results in many competitions:

New and Old Members Taking Over
Classroom Enlightenment
Igniting Sparks of Innovation
In February 2025, the team entered a crucial stage of new and old members taking over. Two senior members chose to stay to pass on the team's experience and the spirit of sci-tech innovation. Seven new members joined, injecting fresh vitality into the team and jointly continuing the sci-tech innovation journey.
From March to June 2025, the new batch of team members started some systematic sci-tech innovation courses. The courses covered circuit connection and graphical programming, 2D modeling and laser cutting, 3D modeling and 3D printing, as well as preliminary exploration of artificial intelligence. In class, the team members not only solidly mastered professional knowledge but also focused on real-life issues. They thought about practical questions such as "how to make household devices smarter" and "how to reduce waste of living resources". Finally, they set up three research groups and started innovative practices through project-based learning, turning "small doubts" in life into "big starting points" for exploring science.
OVERCOMING CHALLENGES
Summer Intensive Training
Turning Creativity into Achievements
In June 2025, each group completed the project proposal and clarified their research directions. The intensive training during the summer vacation became the "critical period" for the team members to turn their creative blueprints into reality. During this period, they interpreted the spirit of sci-tech innovation through actions. These include designing questionnaires for research, conducting on-site data analysis, and drawing design diagrams to build circuits. They also were writing programs for repeated debugging, carrying out 3D modeling for 3D printing, and assembling prototypes for continuous optimization.
After days and nights of hard work, the team members not only successfully created operational prototypes but also wrote detailed research reports. They submitted their project to the GIC Global Innovation Challenge, making a huge impact on the international stage.

On the Global Stage Winning
Two Awards to Prove Strength
The IF・GIC Global Innovation Challenge is an annual international event designed for students aged 5 to 19 worldwide. It aims to provide a platform for young people to showcase their creativity, compete with peers and share their glory.
The project "Elderly Companion Robot", co-developed by three students from the International Department of Shanghai World Foreign Language Primary School – Shi Leyi, Bao Ruihan and Yang Jiayao – successfully entered the finals. In the online defense session, the three students expressed themselves fluently, and were calm and confident. They demonstrated excellent teamwork and innovative thinking, winning high recognition from the judges. Finally, they won two important awards:

The team's growth journey vividly interpreted the profound connotation of "exploration, creation, practice" and proved to the world that every small idea contains infinite possibilities to change the world. They exerienced many facets including classroom enlightenment, igniting sparks of innovation, and taking project practice that turned inspiration into reality.They were able to show the sci-tech innovation strength of Chinese youth on the international stage,
In the future, the International Department of Shanghai World Foreign Language Primary School will continue to deepen sci-tech innovation education. They will build more platforms for students to explore and innovate, help more young people set sail on the road of sci-tech innovation and write wonderful chapters with wisdom and practice, The school will continue to contribute to cultivating future students to showcase their global perspectives and innovative abilities.
